Austria: 100% organic food supply is possible

A 100% supply of Austria with domestic, organically produced food is possible. This is the result of a new study carried out by the Centre for Global Change at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL). By the study, the authors show the economic advantages and positive consequences for health and the environment. The study was presented by the initiative Mother Earth as well as Greenpeace as part of the key subject 2018 “Look where your food comes from!”

Companies campaigning for health and future food

The Sustainable Foods Summit in Amsterdam showed that pioneers as well as the next generation in the organic industry think differently. OTA: US organic market worth $49.4 bn

Recently, the Organic Trade Association (OTA) released its annual Organic Industry Survey 2017. As the study shows, the number of organic products purchased in the USA increased again – up to 6.4% within last year. Further, the OTA revealed that the American organic market is growing six times as fast as the market as a whole.

Global protests: March Against Monsanto #MAM

The organisation March Against Monsanto #MAM announced that 2018 May 19th will be the date for the 7th international March Against Monsanto grassroots campaign. The global events will take place in hundreds of cities on six continents with the objective to further educate and raise awareness about Monsanto’s genetically modified seeds and the increasingly toxic food supply, as well as its merger with the German pesticide, GMO and pharmaceutical giant Bayer.
