Arla Foods has launched its first branded organic milk in the Middle East: Arla Organic® Milk is now available in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Middle East is the company's biggest strategic growth market outside Europe.
The introduction of Arla Organic® Milk in the UAE is playing its part in the business strategy of the European dairy cooperative to make it the number one among organic milk products in the Middle East and North Africa by 2020. Expansion into Saudi Arabia and Kuwait is planned for 2018. “We're seeing growing demand for organic products in the Middle East. We want to take advantage of this trend and acquire a better understanding of the organic consumers there, so that we can then develop markets in neighbouring regions,” says Rasmus Malmbak Kjeldsen, Senior Vice President at Arla for the Middle East and North Africa.
Arla Organic® Milk is on sale in all important retail chains in the UAE, including Union Coop, Choithrams, Spinneys, Carrefour, Geant and Lulu Hypermarket. Arla has hitherto been known in the Middle East mainly for conventional dairy products under global brands like Lurpak®, Castello® and Puck®.
