Closing Report: Organic Lifestyle EXPO 2017

Organized by the Organic Forum Japan, the Organic Lifestyle Expo (OLE) with the theme “Toward the realization of SDGs for sustainable development and promoting Organic 3.0” was held on 29th and 30th June 2017 at the Tokyo International Forum in central Tokyo. Compared to last year, the second edition of the Expo achieved considerable growth. Further, the B2B2C concept was well received by exhibitors as well as visitors.

Previous to the OLE, the new B2B event “Organic Forum Symposium / Organic Buyers Meeting”, for professionals and media only, took place on 28th June. Specialized seminars, business meetings as well as product displays were part of the event, which was characterized by the active participation of many stakeholders.

According to the organizers, 204 companies, organizations and media were represented at 246 exhibition booths. Approximately 50% of the exhibitors presented food and beverages, 13% exhibited cosmetics and body care, 26% living goods such as textiles and 11% displayed other products.

Almost equally distributed, the expo was visited by a total of 22,992 visitors on both days. Thereby, about 70% of the visitors were of a public background and 30% of a professional background.

The next Organic Lifestyle EXPO will be held on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2018 at the Tokyo International Forum. Further, a small B2B OLE for food, combined with other exhibitions, is going to take place at Tokyo Big Sight.
