42nd Innatex: focus on fair shoes

by Editor (comments: 0)

The 42nd Innatex in Hofheim-Wallau was focused on the shoe industry. The program of the green fashion fair was rounded by many lectures concerning the main topic as well as a blogger meeting. Berndt Hinzmann, from the INKOTA network, said: "Human rights at work are an essential aspect when it comes to sustainability. Innatex and organisations, such as the IVN, can make a significant contribution to ensuring that the issue is taken seriously in broad sections of society and that alternatives are consistently developed so that the environment is protected and human rights are respected in the production of leather and footwear." The INKOTA-network is a developmental organisation that is particularly committed to labour rights.

In the future, organizer Muevo GmbH would like to revise the shoe approval criteria in order to provide even more transparent information about the exhibiting brands and their commitment. A total of over 300 sustainable brands presented their new winter collections at the Rhine-Main exhibition centre. Muevo GmbH counted around 2,000 visitors for both days of the fair.

First Xoom in Berlin

A few days before Innatex, the new trade fair Xoom celebrated its premiere in its own hall at Panorama Berlin. More than 40 Innatex labels presented their fashion on an exhibition area of more than 1,000 square metres. Alexander Hitzel, project manager of Xoom and Innatex comments: "The green fashion brands in our Xoom hall were able to inspire many new customers with their collections."
