Organic Market in Romania

Domestic consumption is rising. Imports are mostly highly-processed products and exports from Romania are, for example, oil seeds, grains, protein products and forest fruits. The organic consumer market was estimated to be worth US$ 45 million in 2016, an increase of more than 30 percent compared with two years ago.

Retail stores have played an important role in encouraging the growth in organic consumption: they now allocate shelves to displaying organic products, thus  presenting them in an eye-catching way and encouraging shoppers to go for organics.
