Turkey: organic fair Ekoloji takes place in Izmir

The 9th Ekoloji Izmir Fair will be held between 9th – 12th May 2018 in Fuarizmir/ A Hall, in Izmir, on the west coast of Turkey. It is the only fair that represents Turkey both national and international in the field of certified organic products.
Ekoloji Izmir Fair invites all industry stakeholders to show a wide range of product categories which includes; organic food, organic textile, organic personal care and cleaning products, organic Input (fertilizer, seed, drug, trap), organic tourism, renewable energy, machine, control and certification company, analysis laboratory, alternative education. „The fair will continue to arouse the interest of sector professionals and also consumers at the same time with parallel activities“, explain the organisers. Turkey: 17%increase in organic food exports in 2017
Izmir is an important ecological center with its harbour where many organic goods are shipped for export. The country earned $87 million last year in revenue from organic food exports to 68 countries. That is an increase of 17 percent year-on-year in 2017. On a weight basis exports rose by 10 percent compared to the previous year, hitting 21,000 tons. Raisins, dried figs, nuts and dried apricots are the bestselling export crops. Germany was the largest importer followed by the U.S. and France.
