The project Data Network for Better European Organic Market Information - OrganicDataNetwork - aims to increase the transparency of the European organic food market through better availability of market intelligence about the sector to meet the needs of policy makers and actors involved in organic markets. It was funded under the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union and ran from 2012 to 2014.
The OrganicDataNetwork had 15 partners from ten countries who collected, published and analysed organic market data. The work was carried out in nine work packages. A major outcome of the project is the OrMaCode, the Organic Market Data Manual and Code of Practice. (Picture: Prof. Raffaele Zanoli, Coordinator OrganicDataNetwork)
A video is available on Youtube - the Tutorial on the use of the OrMaCode: Organic Market Fata Manual and Code of Practice. Dr. Helga Willer of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, Switzerland, and Professor Raffaele Zanoli, Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy are illustrating some of the features of the OrMaCode.
