The Danish organic market has grown by 17,8 % in the first six month of 2016 and the organic share is 9,9% of the total food sales in the Danish retail sector. That makes Denmark to the most well-developed organic market worldwide, says a report. Organic products worth almost DKK 1.7 billion (€ 228 Mio.) were sold to professional kitchens in Denmark in 2015, according to the latest statement from Statistics Denmark. This corresponds to an increase of 27% relative to 2014. More than a trebling within five years. And the positive development continues: Organic Denmark expects that the organic sale to food service will increase by 25 percent in 2016.

First, an increasing proportion of organic fodder in Europe is being covered by imports from Ukraine. And second there are cases of residues and also fraud concerning the big and complex organic trade structures in the south of Ukraine, and they have never been completely cleared up. The end result is a very one-sided and  rather negative image of the country. The following contribution shows that organic in Ukraine is, however, also very vibrant and diverse and that organic products are becoming increasingly popular in the country itself. The domestic market is constantly growing.

Tribunals are set up to deal with serious crimes, to indict people guilty of crimes against humanity and to punish them. In the middle of October the Monsanto Tribunal will be held in The Hague. For three days, this symbolic citizens' court will hear plaintiffs from all over the world present a summary of the offences committed by Monsanto. The aim is to get the criminal offence of ecocide recognised in international law.Taking place in parallel, the People´s Assembly will work on devising strategies and concepts for conserving resources and ensuring a viable future.
