Compass Group North America and Pizza Fusion have announced a strategic partnership to expand the organic restaurant into schools and universities.  The agreement marks Pizza Fusion’s first expansion into the contract foodservice industry; making Pizza Fusion one of the first organic, eco-friendly concepts to be featured in Compass Group’s portfolio.  “Pizza Fusion provides us with the opportunity to provide our customers with a great tasting, healthy pizza in an earth friendly environment”, Mike Brandon, Director of Brand Development at Compass Group, states. “Compass Group is proud of our partnership with Pizza Fusion and we look forward to bringing this innovative brand to a variety of our contract foodservice clients.”

With 21 restaurants currently open in 14 states and several in development around the USA, Pizza Fusion is positioning itself for a strong national expansion as it continues to develop multiple growth channels within the USA.  Recently, Pizza Fusion announced a master franchise agreement for Saudi Arabia, kicking off the restaurant chain’s global expansion as it continues to evaluate international candidates. “Being recognized by the dominant food service provider in the world as a viable concept and brand couldn’t be more inspiring for Pizza Fusion”, Mark Begelman, CEO of Pizza Fusion, continues.  “It provides continued validation that lends itself to the success of the Pizza Fusion concept and brand.  We are delighted and excited by our strategic partnership with Compass Group.” Based in Charlotte NC, Compass Group North America is the leading foodservice and support services company with 9 billion $ in revenues in 2008. With 388,000 associates worldwide, its parent company, UK-based Compass Group PLC had revenues of 11 billion £ in the year to September 30, 2008.
