by Redaktion (comments: 0)
Organic and natural products from WWF Terre dell'Oasi are included in the menus of IKEA cafeterias all over Italy every weekend until July this year. The goal is to sensibilise consumers and orientate them towards the choice of "green" products, particularly with an eye toward the protection of biodiversity and the preservation of natural heritage. The initiative was launched as part of the World Earth Day on 22 April 2012.
"Terre dell'Oasi" is a collaboration between WWF and Legacoop, promoting the protection of agrodiversity and agricultural landscapes through the use of sustainable, mainly organic farming systems and the direct sale of products. Revenues will be invested in conservation projects in the protected areas. Products mainly come from the five WWF areas: Lake of Penne (Abruzzo), Orbetello Lagoon (Tuscany), Forest Vanzago (Lombardy), Monte Arcosu (Sardinia) and the Regional Natural Reserve of Saline di Trapani (Sicily) and include vegetables, cheeses, pasta and salt.
