Spain: Valencia edition of BioCultura a full success

The 4th edition of BioCultura Valencia took place from 22 to 24 February 2013. The fair was a full success with the participation of more than 20,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors. This confirms the good moment the Spanish organic sector is in, as well as being an interesting business opportunity for the trade and a place to learn about and taste organics for everyone. Angeles Parra, director of BioCultura commented:  "The sector is growing at around 15%  - this shows it is less affected by the current crisis than many others. There is a need to rethink more than ever right now and to turn towards more responsible and ethical alternatives."

Food was once again the star of the show with over 10,000 certified organic products. The offer has been gradually extended, largely thanks to the work in R & D of small entrepreneurs that have expanded their catalogs with new organic delicacies and innovative suggestions for a healthy diet.

Health, fashion, hygiene and aesthetics also ranked high in BioCultura, where the broad public and retailers got to know and test innovations in makeup, creams, soaps, shoes and more. More than 150 activities took place parallel to the exhibition -  workshops, lectures and conferences around food, health and responsible consumption from all points of view and for all ages. Even children had their own space at the ecological childhood festival Mamaterra. The next edition of BioCultura will take place in Barcelona from 25 to 28 April 2013.
