The international organic sector gathered again at BioFach and Vivaness in Germany. 41,794 trade visitors from 126 countries came to see the products and services from 2,413 exhibitors in February 2013. Two trends stand out in the exhibition analysis: Some 6,000 specialist retailers came to the world’s leading exhibition, which corresponds to 16 % of the buyers, and the international share of total attendance rose from 41 to 44 %. Visitors at the world-leading exhibition (by sectors of the economy) come from the retail trade (2013: 37 %), wholesale trade/export & import (19 %), manufacturing (18 %), agriculture and aquaculture (11 %), and the service sector (8 %). Visitors are also decision-makers: 79 % say they decisively or partly influence purchasing/procurement decisions in their own company.
The Fachhandelstreff – comprising the Fachhandelsforum and Fachhandelsclub – celebrated its premiere in 2011 and has enjoyed a lively response since then. The number of visitors from the specialist trade using this extra offer rose again in 2013. The next BioFach and Vivaness exhibition duo in Nuremberg will take place from 12–15 February 2014.
