BioFach Japan 2013: successful marketing needs innovative products

Japan is currently struggling with repeated phases of economic turmoil, but one sector is developing slowly but surely: the organic industry. In the past years, many people have changed their lifestyle and their eating habits. Organic food, natural cosmetics and eco-textiles are attracting people’s interest, and modern marketing concepts are revealing new channels.


The internet, social media, but also lifestyle and women’s magazines are helping to familiarize the younger generation with the organic and sustainability themes. Products from Europe in particular are popular with the Japanese. Last year, the international trade fair BioFach Japan recorded 15,000 trade visitors. This year, the organizers are expecting about 200 exhibitors and 18,000 visitors when the event opens for the 13th time at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Centre from 31 October – 2 November 2013.
