The 14th edition of the IFOAM Organic World Congress (OWC) takes place from 13 -15 October 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey. Sector stakeholders come together at the world’s largest and most significant organic gathering to discuss and deliberate the issues of the day. At the same time the IFOAM General Assembly also convenes, a lively meeting that inspires members, board and staff to continue working towards the realization of IFOAM's vision.
The next OWC is structured in three conference tracks: The Main Track, made up of two parallel sessions titled Organic Vision Building and Growing the Organic World, sees panelists discuss the future direction of the global organic world. The Scientific Track is designed for researchers to present their latest findings on systems, plant production, animal husbandry, socio-economics, processing, trade, and human nutrition research. The Practitioners Track provides a forum for the exchange of hands-on knowledge and experiences in the practical and strategic as well as socio-cultural aspects of organic food and agriculture.
In addition, a series of workshops, i.e. full sessions organized by interested parties, are highlighting the contributions made by various initiatives from around the organic world. The series of workshops is open to institutes and initiatives interested in sharing their expertise with congress attendees. Deadline for all applications is 30 September 2013.
