According to an Amercian blog on food and tech, online giant Amazon plans to launch a new concept with grocery stores in stationary trade. For this purpose, the company has supposedly already registered a new trademark.

Reportedly, Amazon wants to start ist own grocery store chain. As Matt Newberg, editor at HNGRY-blog, writes, the internet company recently filed a trademark for planned grocery stores named „Amazon Fresh“. Information from public building and trademark records shows, that new Amazon Fresh stores will presumably be launched in Southern California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois.

As the food blog further reports, the planned store-designs will take the customers’ safety into account by implemeting one-way aisles and daily temperature checks for the employees. In addition to that, the stores are said to offer new curbside pickup areas for Amazon Flex deliverers as well as customers.

Thanks to the use of new robot and computer technology, orders should then be ready for collection in less than 30 minutes and delivered in less than an hour. In addition, the technology should ensure that fewer errors occur during automated packing of orders than with manually packed baskets. According to Amazon, Amazon Fresh stores will also include the Dash Carts, a compact version of intelligent technology with image processing without the usual check-outs.
